The same and different plastics can be connected in different ways. For example, welding is a common welding process. This is especially true when gluing does not guarantee an adequate or tight and long-lasting connection. Plastic welding is not surface, but a tight material connection. However, this only applies to so-called thermoplastic (thermoformable) plastics. Elastomers and thermoset materials cannot be welded.
